The WK-2 is designed for high performance wireless applications and incorporates a number of performance enhancing features and capabilities.

2x2 AC MIMO technologies ensure higher speeds for a greater number of devices than is possible with wireless N. The newly available 80Mhz channel transmits more information than the 20 and 40Mhz channels available to wireless N - creating a better wireless experience.

The WK-2 has a higher channel capacity than N based APs – capable of processing up to 4 times as many signals per channel (based on a 256-QAM vs the 64-QAM on N based APs). Complementing this capability is the WK-2’s ability to provide wider channels for carrying traffic – up to 80 MHz wide. In comparison, N based APs can provide only 20 or 40 MHz wide channels. Wider channels mean more information can be carried – from more devices and devices carrying more high bandwidth traffic. In practical terms, this means that the WK-2 can be used on sites with a high client device density such as corporate offices, convention centers, concert halls, schools, and even churches (high number of devices per square foot or square meter). In addition, whereas two N-based APs may be needed to support a dense device environment, one WK-2 can be used instead (the actual number of APs needed to support a dense client environment is based on a variety of factors – including the number of devices at peak times, the type of content and applications being processed, potential interference sources, usage patterns, and redundancy strategies).
